Elio Vittorini wrote in his unfinished novel “Cities of the World”:
“The city of Scicli is located at the intersection of three valleys, with houses on all sides of the cliffs, a large square in against-low astride a large stream, and former ecclesiastical buildings that crown in several places, like the baroque acropolis, a semicircle of altitudes. “

The house is located within fifty meters of the “main square” described by Vittorini, who is now the town hall in the heart of Scicli, incredibly fascinating place, unique and incomparable. It is located in the city center, in one of the most characteristic streets of the city. This old house dating from the late XIXth century was completely renovated in 2015 and has been converted into a short rentals holiday home…

It has one bedroom and two independent apartments furnished with antique furniture for a total of 8 beds plus a comfortable sofa bed. Upon request there is also a folding bed.
Each apartment is named after one of the family members of Alfredo, the current owner and grand-child of the great great grandfather Pietro Cannata who had the building built in 1880.

The apartments are fully equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi.
A few meters away there are several bars and restaurants serving typical local dishes at very reasonable prices.
